May 16, 2008 -There is nothing I’d rather watch than two people spend an amount of money that I have never seen, on something quite ridiculous. For someone whose splurges consist of new jeans, a nice hotel room, or a spa trip, watching someone splurge on things that cost more than a typical annual salary is quite amusing. Watching people bicker and argue over how many thousand-dollar Swarovski crystal candlesticks will be on each table at their wedding is quality entertainment.

Similar to MTV’s “My Super Sweet Sixteen,” but a little more mature…or not, “Platinum Weddings” on WE is here again with another season of wedded bliss. The season kicks off on June 1 with the wedding of Sara and Deepak.

Here is what WE online had to say about this wedding for the season premier:
“East meets West when Deepak delights his bride Sara and 660 guests with over a million dollars in celebrations, highlighted by his grand entrance on a fully decorated elephant.”

If there is not enough in the one sentence alone to entice you to watch, I don’t know what to tell you.
